Packers Hold On, Beat Steelers to Make Preseason Pick Come True

Damn, I feel pretty good this morning BetUS pro football betting brethren!
Not only did the Green Bay Packers hold off the Pittsburgh Steelers to win Super Bowl XLV 31-25 and make my preseason prediction of a championship title come true this season, but thanks to quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ heroics, the Packers also cashed in against the Super Bowl 45 odds as a 2.5-point ‘home’ favorite just like I predicted in the BetUS Football News section.
Of course, what initially looked like it a laugher in the making, turned out to be a pretty good game, even though I think the Green Bay would have dominated had several of them (and Jordy Nelson in particular) not gotten a bad case of the yips.

Even Super Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers struggled at times in what I thought was an uneven performance from the dual threat signal-caller as the new Super Bowl winner missed several throws he normally makes with ease.
Nevertheless, when the game was on the line, Rodgers responded flawlessly, regaining his composure well enough to lead Green Bay on a time-consuming drive that basically iced the game for the Packers.
Rodgers completed 24 of 39 passes for 304 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions and led the Packers on a game-deciding drive that may have ended with just a field goal, but one that took 5:27 off the clock after Pittsburgh had just scored a touchdown and two-point conversion to pull within three points with just 7:34 remaining.
Rodgers entered the elite class of quarterbacks I’ve been saying he should have been in by completing six passes on the Packers’ game-clinching drive, including 31-yarder to Greg Jennings and a 21-yard completion to James Jones.
And speaking of elite quarterbacks BetUS pro football betting enthusiasts, wasn’t it strange seeing Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger look like the inexperienced starter playing in his first Super Bowl title game?
‘Big Ben’ threw two first half interceptions that basically put his team in a huge first half hole that they couldn’t overcome against the sound Packers the way they did against the Baltimore Ravens in their AFC Divisional showdown a few weeks back.
Roethlisberger completed 25 of 40 passes for 263 yards with two touchdowns, but again, threw two extremely costly interceptions in the loss.
In the end, the Steelers were outplayed and rightfully beaten by a team that overcame a multitude of injuries, not only during the course of the regular season, but during the course of Super Bowl 45 itself as several key Green Bay players were injured throughout the game, including Hall of Fame-bound cornerback Charles Woodson.
In the end, the team that won it all was the team that deserved it most, had the best quarterback and played with the most heart – and team was the Green Bay Packers.
